Thomas Leahy is entering his 15th year with the Illinois Association of School Boards as a Director/Consultant with the Executive Search Department.  He is past chair of the National Affiliation of Superintendent Searchers, past president of the Illinois Association of School Administrators and was named the American Association of School Administrators - 2006 Illinois Superintendent of the Year.  He has 48 years of experience as an educator including a teacher for 6 1/2 years, a principal for 14 1/2 years, a superintendent for 14 years and a search consultant for 13 years.  Mr Leahy has a bachelor's degree from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Illinois, a master's degree in Educational Administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.  His personal interests include music, living on a farm in western Illinois with Joyce, his wife of 49 years and time with his family including their three children, their spouses and thirteen grandchildren.
