Bio
Amber Heffner is the Executive Director of Illinois Digital Educators Alliance (IDEA), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing professional opportunities to educators throughout Illinois. IDEA is the Illinois affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTEĀ®). Amber has a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Science in Counseling and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. Her background as a coach, a teacher, a counselor, and a school administrator created a number of unique educational experiences on which she draws from in her role today. In addition to providing professional learning to educators across the globe and being on the NCTET council, Amber is also an #IamRemarkable facilitator, 2022 ASAE Research Foundation Development committee members, sits on the board for Learning Forward Illinois, assisted the Illinois State Board of Education on developing Computer Science (CS) standards and CS resources, and is a member of the Illinois Medial Literacy Coalition advocating for increased media literacy requirements. Amber strives to empower educators with support, valuable professional development, resources and networking opportunities that support their personal growth to be the best they can be for students.
