Theresa is an Associate Professor and Director of Middle Grades & Secondary Education at Elmhurst University Dr. Robinson earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences and Secondary Education and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in science and environmental education from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale. She taught grades 9-12 science in Chicago Public Schools. She is currently the Principal Investigator for a NSF Robert Noyce Grant. She has dedicated her career to preparing teachers to teach in culturally responsive ways and providing S.T.E.M professional development to Pk-12 teachers. She is an active member of the National Science Teachers Association, American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, a Board member of Girls Like Me Project Inc. and a founding member of the Black Educational Advocacy Coalition of Illinois (BEAC)
