ESSA 2019 - What's Changed, What's Ahead and How to Make Sense of It All

11:10 AM–12:05 PM Oct 21, 2019 (US - Central)

Room 402, PCC

Description

Did you break down your 2018 data to understand how your school designation was determined? Do you know what indicators have changed or increased/decreased in value and what the impact may be on your 2019 School Report Card? Do you know what has been proposed as amendments to the Illinois plan?

This sesion will provide a review of the indicators, including the breakdown of indicator weights for the 2019 School Report Card. We'll also review how you can break down your student data to help you understand how your student "groups" are performing and how their performance impacts your overall designation.

We'll also talk about a new "placemat" that helps you apply the School Leader Paradigm cycle of inquiry (the infinity loop) to your school improvement process to create a  plan that can be easily communicated to your stakeholders. If your school improvement plan is only a 3-ring binder that sits on a shelf until the next time your committee meets, this new resource can help keep everyone focused on the task at hand.

Grab your School Leader Paradigm joy cube (that's the optimistic version of the stress cube) in the Connection Center in the Exhibit Hall and join us to see how the Domains and Dimension align to this important work.
